Amritsar to Hemkunt Sahib Darshan
Begin your spiritual journey from Amritsar with an early morning drive to Haridwar, one of India’s holiest cities. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, attend the enchanting Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, where the sight of thousands of diyas floating in the river creates a truly divine ambiance. Overnight stay in Haridwar.
After breakfast, drive through scenic mountain routes towards Joshimath, a peaceful hill town in Uttarakhand and the gateway to Hemkunt Sahib. The route passes through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag—confluences of sacred rivers. Reach Joshimath by evening and check into your hotel. Overnight stay in Joshimath.
Early morning, drive to Govindghat, the base point for the trek. From there, begin your 13 km trek to Ghangaria, the last stop before Hemkunt Sahib. You can choose to trek on foot or hire ponies or a helicopter (if available). On arrival at Ghangaria, check into a guesthouse and rest for the night. Overnight stay in Ghangaria.
This is the most divine and awaited part of the journey. Begin early and trek 6 km uphill to Hemkunt Sahib, located at an altitude of 4,329 meters. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and a crystal-clear lake, this sacred Gurudwara is believed to be the meditation site of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in his previous life. After darshan and langar, return to Ghangaria by evening. Overnight stay in Ghangaria.
After breakfast, trek back to Govindghat and begin your return journey by road. Drive towards Rudraprayag, a holy town at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Reach by evening and relax after the trek. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.
After a peaceful night, continue the drive to Haridwar. You may stop at Rishikesh en route if time permits to explore Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, or attend a short Ganga Aarti. Reach Haridwar and rest. Overnight stay in Haridwar.
After breakfast, begin your final return journey to Amritsar, carrying with you the divine energy, blessings, and peaceful memories of Hemkunt Sahib. Upon reaching Amritsar, your journey comes to a fulfilling end.
